Each year, Park Pride collaborates with several Atlanta park conservancies to host a picnic for The City of Atlanta’s park workers, giving them them a hearty “Thank you!” (as well as a hearty meal) at the Park Worker’s Picnic!
This year, the picnic was held at Mozely Park on October 18th. Hundreds of park workers descended on the park to enjoy some southern food and a job well done for our park system.
From dropping countless loads of wood chips at parks to supporting last minute requests and approvals, [parks] would be lost without you. Y’all are quick to jump in and help out without complaint or missing a beat, and are true stewards of our parks. You do a tremendous job keeping up with a heavy workload, and we are all thankful for it!
Title of “Park of the Year” was also awarded to 2 parks (one large, one small) based on the level of excellence displayed by the park’s crew. This year’s recipients are:
3rd place: Four Corners Park
2nd place: Sara Gonzelez
1st place: Muse Street Segment of The Atlanta Beltline
3rd place: Grove Park
2nd place: West Manor Park
1st place: Frankie Allen Park
Congratulations to the winning park crews! And again, THANK YOU for keeping Atlanta’s parks beautiful!
Also a MASSIVE shout-out to our partners that made this event possible! Grant Park Conservancy, Chastain Park Conservancy, Historic 4th Ward Park Conservancy, South Fork Conservancy, West Atlanta Watershed Alliance, Olmstead Linear Park Alliance, Piedmont Park Conservancy, Freedom Park Conservancy, and Oakland Cemetery.
